Did we read To Dance with the White Dog? I don't remember that, and I have been pretty good about reading the selections. I also don't remember the Jane Austen mystery. Let me know if I just missed those.

We are readers who love to travel. We make time to travel to a 'literary' destination each summer as well going to plays, movies, and exhibits together. Our group came together by way of our favorite book, the Bible, and our relationships at church. We read almost any kind of book, even some once banned books (like the Bible). Our motto could be 'so many books and places; so little time.'

Yes, I chose it. It's about an elderly man whose wife has died and he thinks she comes back as a white dog. I loved it, but some people thought it was too sad.
See how great my memory is? I answered your question about To Dance, but forgot you asked about The Jane Austen Mystery! I think the selection that month may have been to choose a mystery or something Jane Austen, and that's the book I read.
Seriously, I worry about me.
Well, obviously, mine is not better. I know the story because I saw the movie (Jessica Tandy?), but I don't remember that being a book club book. I guess I missed that month because I have no recollection. We did do a pick your own mystery month. We also did a pick your own biography month because I chose Walt Disney. We did a pick your own classic month as well.
Yes, Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy - love both of them, but the movie was not nearly as good as the book!!! (as is often the case!) Terry Kay wrote the book and it was the All Arkansas Reads book in 2001.
